Superman was born with the rather less catchy name of Kal-El, on the planet Krypton. He was sent to Earth in a space pod just before Krypton’s destruction. He was found and adopted by the lovely Jonathan and Martha Kent in Smallville, who named him Clark. Clark becomes a reporter with The Daily Planet newspaper, dashing off to become Superman when he hears of crime stories hot off the press! His many enemies range from the daft Bizarro to evil brainbox Lex Luthor. Lucky he has superpowers aplenty, including flight, x-ray vision and superhuman strength.
