Superman was born with the rather less catchy name of Kal-El, on the planet Krypton. He was sent to Earth in a space pod just before Krypton’s destruction. He was found and adopted by the lovely Jonathan and Martha Kent in Smallville, who named him Clark. Clark becomes a reporter with The Daily Planet newspaper, dashing off to become Superman when he hears of crime stories hot off the press! His many enemies range from the daft Bizarro to evil brainbox Lex Luthor. Lucky he has superpowers aplenty, including flight, x-ray vision and superhuman strength. You know you’re in safe hands as soon as Superman gracefully lands right in the middle of your Superman birthday party in his lycra-clad glory, in between fighting the most dastardly baddies.

- Kylo Ren was born Ben Solo, the son of Princess Leia and Han Solo, and was trained in the ways of the Force by his uncle, Luke Skywalker. He was then lured over to the dark side by sneaky Snoke, changing his name to the more sinister-sounding Kylo Ren and kicks off his evil doings by destroying the Jedi training temple and waging war against his heroic parents. When your grandpa is Darth Vader, life is always going to be a little complicated…
- Before he became the fearful Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker was the Force’s Chosen One. Born on Tattooine, he spent his early years as a slave until he was rescued by Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s mentor. Obi-Wan takes him on as his Padawan, and he becomes a Jedi Knight. He agrees to turn to the Dark Side to save his wife, Senator Amidala (Luke and Leia’s mum), trades Obi-Wan in for Darth Sidious, and there you have the creation of one of the best (or is it worst?) baddies ever – Darth Vader.
